World Aids Day

Today is World AIDS Day. I watched a special they did a while back abou the memorial they do in front of the Capitol building with the quilt that has people's names that died of AIDS. It makes me cry. How not even 20 years ago our country didn't even acknowledge the disease existed. And now that everyone knows about it people are still infecting themselvs with it by unprotected sex and doing drugs and such.

I know that I to have had unprotected sex and I hate that. I hate that I haven't had a test done since I have had sex. I know I should but I think of it like this. I haven't had any symptoms of it or any other STD. Then again it can come asymptomatic. I think tha is my New year's resolution. I know it is like a month early but I am going to be more sexuallly aware. I am going to test myself by that home test.

I just wish there was a day when AIDS is just a horrible memory.
