Without her we have no pulse.

Without her we have no pulse.

A couple weeks ago my grandmother had a heart attack. Luckily, she survived through it and can say that she is now ok, not healthy, but ok.

Today she celebrated her 61st birthday. She is still smoking; hasn't learned a thing.

"But she's too young to be having those sort of problems," you say. I said the same thing, and so did the rest of my family. To bad they are not trying to stop her from smoking, too bad they are not trying to get her to stop eating salt and sodium, too bad they talk a lot of their heart-felt sympathies but seem to not be worried about it.

I don't know what I would do without her. I hope she knows how much we all need her. She is the heart of this family. Without her we have no pulse. Without her we are lifeless.

I just hope she knows that.
